After reading the article 'Self-reflection may lead independently to creativty, depression'. I do not agree fully with the author's view. Not everyone who are writers and artists are the same. Mental health researchers and practitioners shouldn't link creativity with depression. They should not judge people based on creativity. Like what study co-author Jutta Joormann, a PHD, a Stanford University researcher says, "Depression is associated with inactivity, difficulty concentrating and lying on bed, which seems contrary to creativity." This explains well that depression is totally not linked with creativity.
For the questionnaires that 99 undergraduates did in Syracuse University, it may be inaccurate. With such a small number of students doing the questionnaire, the results cannot be solely based on their results. Afterall, they have different views. Moreover, there should be more students not just from pyschology, arts, science and writers group, they should get students from other groups to obtain an even more accurate and reliable result.
